I received a $10.00 charge from Angieslist.com on Feb. 05, 2017. I used Angies List formerly until I found that they did not back up their services and make them operational before advertising them and having people sign up. This is not only bad service, it's lying to the customer and wasting precious time to deal with a company that apparently wants attention and business but has little or no interest in actually performing the services they 'offer'. How much worse can it get? Well, on Feb. 05, 2017 out of the blue, I got a charge for Angies List as if I was still subscribing. I haven't subscribed for years. Do they put people in an endless loop of repeat charges with no way of getting out? You call their number and they say go to their website to cancel although I do not believe I signed up in the first place in the last several years. So I go to their website to "begin live chat" as instructed by the automated phone message but there is no "begin live chat' button at the bottom of the page nor a "send a message": button as they say there is. They don't follow through on anything it seems but they do divert people to non-existing links on their website.
There is a massive user agreement above these non-options ojn the page I was sent to, which they probably want people to agree to so they have all the legal advantage to do this scammy stuff before someone even starts a conversation or attempts to cancel a membership. All of this to me shouts, SCAM, SCAM, ANGIESLIST IS A SCAM TO GET PEOPLE TO SIGN UP AND GET EMBROILED IN ITS CHARGES AND NON-RESPONSIVE WEB. Previously they offered a buy and sell site that I went through th process of posting to but the exchange was apparently not being maintained. I posted things multiple times but they were never put up on the site. it was as if they advertise something to get peoples' attention, get consumer interest, ratings, subscribers, and money, and then don't do a damn thing to follow through on their promises. This is a high-profile company that is very very poor on customer service and regular advertised services, or should I say, doesn't have customer service, but a never-ending net of scammy lures and payment loops where you may never get to talk to a person as their phone number 866-623-6088 message says you will.
What a lousy good for nothing company. I don't think I may ever get to talk to someone from this company which itself is supposed to help people connect with legitimate, high-quality service providers but itself operates in a very sleezy manner. Yes, I want my $10 back and I would like another $10 or $20 for unnecessary emotional upset, time lost, and; mental pain. I have been scammed by this companyp when I did nothing to them. I should not be ripped off ongoing. This company should be investigated and pay back all subscription charges to users and subscribers who have been bilked or charged erroneously!
